Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Wheeling, IL

Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Manager to lead daily operations at a baked goods manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing production schedules, managing labor, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, continuous improvement, and leadership. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, and fostering a positive work environment for the production team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
• Manage and mentor a production team across multiple shifts, with 20 direct reports during peak season.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and food safety standards; familiarity with USDA standards is a plus.
• Develop production schedules, labor plans, and manage purchasing requirements.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other production metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely. Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety protocols; USDA experience is an advantage.
  • Proven experience leading production teams, preferably across multiple shifts.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Excel and data analysis for tracking production metrics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
