Job Description:
The Field Project Management Leader operates as a subject matter
expert in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, national support team in
Johnson Controls Building Solutions North America. The Field
Project Management role requires a self-directed, internally
motivated individual who operates with personal integrity and
possesses a strong foundation for utility, state and federal
program development, project design, estimating, and scope
development within Living Spaces that include: Public Housing,
Affordable/Multifamily Housing, Privatized Military Housing, County
Facilities, Jails, Nursing Homes, Courthouses, Juvenile Detention
Centers, Correctional Facilities, State VA Hospital with Retirement
Homes, Assisted Living or Long-Term Care, Homeless Shelters, Senior
Housing, and Higher Ed Dormitories. Takes ownership of the
development of the project execution plan, project schedule, and
project budget. Strategizes and collaborates with the Sales and
Engineering teams to secure customer-facing contracts. Develops and
maintains Customer and Subcontractor relationships.What you will
doResponsible within the Living Space Vertical Market for
developing and/or overseeing all program development, program
incentives and applications, energy savings, project estimating,
and project scope development, overall buildability, and customer
expectations. Collaborates with Sales and Engineering to ensure
energy performance contracts are executed as presented to clients,
state and federal agencies. Develops and maintains Customer and
Subcontractor relationships.External Relationship:The Living Spaces
Field Project Management Leader is actively involved in the local
contracting community, industry organizations, and networks with
local subcontractors. Responsible for maintaining high customer
satisfaction for projects during the execution phase.Internal
Relationships:
- Works collaboratively with the area team to establish and
maintain national market dominance.
- Assists in effectively planning for future resource needs and
allocates resources to meet near-term commitments.
- Assesses development needs and works with the Area Delivery
Managers to assign Construction Managers as needed for sales
support activities early in the audit process.
- Assesses Project execution needs and collaborates with the Area
Engineering and Installation Manager to assist in the assignment of
Construction Managers as needed.
- Assists in ensuring Fiscal Year plans are met.
- Assists the Vertical Market Director in the monthly financial
reporting of the Living Spaces market.How you will do
itSelf-performs sales support activities early in the audit process
to provide input on vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements,
value engineering, risk assessment, etc. Understands the
residential multifamily market and supports design related to
energy efficiency and GHG reduction goals. Utilizes resource
planning techniques to gain high proactivity from team members.
Plans, schedules, and controls project development activities.
Possesses broad knowledge of commercial/contractual complexity,
deal structure, financial acumen, and negotiation skills.
Influences customer satisfaction and ensures the Region develops
and adheres to a Project Execution Plan for each assigned project.
Establishes customer touchpoints throughout the project lifecycle
to gain feedback on customer satisfaction and coaches teams on
proactively addressing customer feedback. Provides leadership by
demonstrating a focus on exceeding customer expectations and
effectively communicates the status of projects to the Vertical
Market Director as required. Fosters good working relationships
with subcontractors and JCI internal Systems, Service, and Lighting
partners. Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal legal
requirements and that Energy Solutions business is conducted with
the highest ethical standards. Champions and drives the BSNA Safety
Program for employees and subcontractors at all levels.PRODUCTIVITY
MEASUREMENTS:The Area Delivery Consultant is actively involved in
the local contracting community, industry organizations, and
networks with local subcontractors. Responsible for maintaining
high customer satisfaction for projects during the Development and
Delivery phases. The leader is responsible for subcontractor
pricing, securing margin, labor estimates, constructability,
customer satisfaction, and project execution for the Living Spaces
portfolio.The following metrics define this responsibility:
- Project Overall Constructability
- Area Profitability
- Project Profitability
- Executed Gross Margin (Slippage)
- Project cash flow based on beneficial contract terms
- 100% tool usage - Risk Log, RFP tool, Pipeline SuiteWhat we
look forBachelor's degree in engineering or business or equivalent
work experience. Ten or more years of progressively responsible
operations management experience in the Installation Industry,
including five or more years of direct management experience.
High-level competence in written and verbal communication. Strong
presentation skills and proficiency in speaking to large audiences.
Ability to lead and direct cross-functional and cross-business unit
project teams to achieve business results. Ability to lead, manage,
mentor, and inspire others. Knowledge of multiple levels within the
supply chain organization. Strong ability to negotiate, persuade,
and influence. Proficient in software scheduling tools and
applications. High-level project management process competencies.
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS
Project, SharePoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Microsoft
