A leader in the manufacturing industry is currently seeking a Sr. Programmer Analyst for direct hire and permanent placement. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will be responsible for performing analysis, modification, and daily support of the Hyperion system applications that is of a high level of complexity and business impact under minimal supervision. This leading manufacturing company is continuing to evolve and grow their IT department and views this Sr. Programmer Analyst position to be essential.
 
Summary:
This position will work closely with Information Technology and business personnel to understand business requirements and ensure that developed and purchased applications properly function to meet business needs across the organization. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will consult with members of the business community at all levels to identify current operation procedures, clarify program objectives, interpret and evaluate business requirements and provide effective, efficient and innovative system and programming solutions in a fast paced team oriented environment.
With minimum supervision, the Sr. Programmer / Analyst reviews, analyzes, and modifies application systems and programs, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and installing applications to support the organization's business information systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will develop program and system specifications of moderate to high levels of complexity to be acted upon personally or by others on the IT staff for program development. Participates in on-call and after-hours application and end user support as required. Works closely with senior IT personnel members to coordinate application integrity, security, and dependability for the operational and long term success of the IT and business objectives.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other technical discipline
Eight years previous programmer and programmer/analyst experience working with end users in requirements gathering, analysis, and application design and development in a client server and/or web based environment.
Five years Hyperion, Oracle or similar relational database design and support experience
Four years’ experience with ERP systems
Must have the ability to create and modify hierarchy information
Must have expertise in writing and modifying calculations within Hyperion for Business Rules and Macros
Must have knowledge of Hyperion and Oracle data sources, data integrity and interfaces
Experience working with integrated systems in a manufacturing environment
Microsoft Windows operating system experience and Office applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Eight years’ experience with the following as defined by job assignment:
Oracle or Microsoft development tools
Oracle, Progress, SQL-Server or similar RDBMS application development
ERP Application Suites
Code Repository Version Control
TOAD, jDeveloper, SQL Developer, BI Publisher, and other similar tools
Five years’ experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment on Oracle E-Business Suite or similar system
Experience developing and / or supporting Business Intelligence reporting and analytics in an Oracle E-business Suite (or similar) environment
Experience working in IT capacity in a manufacturing environment
Industry training on specific business and ERP modules in one or more functional areas such as Financials, Order Management, HRIS, Procurement, Production Planning, Supply Chain Management, etc.
 
Major Accountabilities:
Maintenance and Administration of Hyperion System version 11.1.2 or higher including Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Strategic Finance, Smart View and Financial Reports.
Ability to create and modify hierarchy information
Expertise in writing and modifying calculations within Hyperion for Business Rules and Macros
Design and tune financial reports, web reports, and web forms
Knowledge of Hyperion and Oracle data sources, data integrity and interfaces
Maintain dimension structures utilizing EAS tools
Administration and testing of Hyperion upgrades and patches
Oversee Change Management Process for Hyperion objects assuring all code changes are properly documented
Provide training and technical support to Oracle and Hyperion users
 
Organizational Relationships:
Reports to ERP/BAS Supervisor
Team associations: Other IT staff members including programmers, analysts, DBA’s, Operations and Service Desk team members, consultants, and third party service providers
Primary internal customers: Management team, administrative employees, external customers, and shop floor employees
Works as a contributor to IT and business work groups
Actively participates in project activities
Contributes independently or as part of a team
 
Position Challenges:
Integration of custom and purchased software
Delivery of high quality systems that allow administrative and manufacturing processes to reliably and consistently function with minimal support from the IT department
Keeping focus on projects while providing tier-two support of end users
